How to write a relevant customer review and be heard!

The customer review has a goal. It is used to help other clients to understand if the product is a good fit for them or not, if they can trust in that company’s service, and to help the company to improve or know that they are going in the right direction and should keep on with what they have been doing.

That’s why it is important to write a relevant review. Even when writing a good and positive review, it’s important to give the details of your experience, so other customers who read it can understand why it is a good option of service, and also for the company to know what they are doing right and keep on with that.

When writing a negative review it’s the same thing. Other customers would like to know what happened, so they can analyze the situation, and the company needs to know the mistake to check if they can still help or improve for the next time.

In order to write a review that clients and companies can really learn from, it should be detailed, constructive, and polite feedback. Here are what you should think about when writing a review accordingly to the Trustpilot platform:

– Give useful and constructive feedback

To give others a feel for what happened a good review should include enough detail like explaining the factors that added to your positive, negative, or so-so experience and offering a view on what the company is doing well or how they can improve. Remember to always keep it friendly.

– Mention all the elements like customer service and others

When you talk about just one element like product quality for example, it provides limited insight to who is looking for the reviews to know better about the service and company in general.

Address an overall experience, including the level of customer service you received. This will increase the relevance of your review. Let the other customers know how helpful the company was, for example!

– Be detailed, specific, and honest

If you write it from your own perspective and keep it honest with the facts, the readers will be able to stand in your shoes and understand it better. It’s ok to write a short review, but the more specific you are, the more likely the review will be useful.

– Keep it polite and friendly

When you publish a review online, it is public, so the same rules apply to it as any kind of published opinion. Although you have the freedom to express your opinion, you shouldn’t cross the line between what’s appropriate and what is inappropriate. No defamatory statements or accusatory statements that are untrue or not proven are permitted.

If you had a negative experience and would like it to be credible you should write it down in a calm and sober tone. Explain what happened and let the readers have their conclusions. This also can make the company engage with you to address the problem.

– Contact the company first

If you have a problem that still can be solved, you should contact the company directly. After all, it’s not guaranteed that the company will see your feedback.

– Update your review!

On some platforms, such as Trustpilot, you can edit your review. In that way, if you changed your opinion or if your problem was solved you can make an “edit” and let readers know what happened after the review.

– Proofread what you wrote

A review should make sense so it can be useful. So before publishing it, check if it has any typos or errors.

Help the review community to learn from you and give the business an opportunity to understand what happened and make improvements by writing a valuable review.
